Upper Mustang Trek( 17 Days )

This trek is best suitable in the seasons from April to November since it lies in a rain shadow area. Upper mustang trek being a great adventure trek, offers a spectacular trekking into the rurals of the himayan mountain region. This area has been highly influenced by the tibetan culture. The tibetan border south to the Kagbeni is mostly referred to as the upper mustang trek spot. It's also well known as the Last Forbidden Kingdom. It's called so because this region was restricted by the Nepal Government until Ocrober 1991. It has explicit historical importance which grabs high tourist attraction.

It starts from Jomsom to Kagbeni, which is the entry point of upper mustang region. After the initiation, it follows the trail bank of kaligandaki river upwards to the Lo-mangtham, the capital of the Upper Mustang Region. The pathaway is also known as the "off beaten path". This trek satisfies your thirst for the panoramic views of the Himalayas including the Nilgiri, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and several other peaks. The long period pf isolation of this year (1000years) has kept the traditions and cultural rituals fresh and up to date.

Itinerary Overview

  • Day 01 - Arrival at the international airport in Kathmandu (1,345m). Overnight at a hotel.
  • Day 02 - Pre trip meeting and sightseeing in and around Kathmandu. Overnight at a hotel.
  • Day 03 - Drive to Pokhara from Kathmandu. Overnight at a hotel.
  • Day 04 - Flight to Jomsom from Pokhara. Trek to Kagbeni. Overnight at tented camps.
  • Day 05 - Trek to Chaile. Overnight at tented camps.
  • Day 06 - Trek to Geling. Overnight at tented camps.
  • Day 07 - Trek to Charang (3,620m). Overnight at tented camps.
  • Day 08 - Trek to Lo Manthang . Overnight at tented camps.
  • Day 09 - Visit Namgyal Gompa and Tingkhar. Overnight at tented camps.
  • Day 10 - Trek to Dhi (3,410m). Overnight at tented camps.
  • Day 11 - Trek to Tange (3,370m). Overnight at tented camps.
  • Day 12 - Trek to Tetang / Chusang (3,022m). Overnight at tented camps.
  • Day 13 - Trek to Jomsom. Overnight at tented camps.
  • Day 14 - A 30-minute flight back to Pokhara. Overnight at a hotel.
  • Day 15 - Leisure day and sightseeing in and around Pokhara. Overnight at a hotel.
  • Day 16 - Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu. Farewell dinner in the evening. Overnight at a hotel.
  • Day 17 - Transfer to the international airport in Kathmandu for your final departure.
